About

Jimmy Markham played a pivotal role in the 1960s and 1970s music explosion centered around Leon Russell and Shelter Records, helping fuse raw Mississippi blues with Oklahoma country and rock. His soulful vocals and expressive harmonica lines have been featured on countless classic recordings and legendary local club jams. Tulsa blues purists and music historians revere him as a living textbook of local music history who continues to inspire the city's contemporary roots performers.
